چکیده
The aim if this work was to assess and propose projection models for diameter at breast height total of individual pine trees the contribution competition indexes in these models. Data obtained from 1056 permanent sampling units non-thinned Pinus taeda L. stands located Telêmaco Borba region, Paraná, Brazil, with ages between 3.4 19.5 years. In order project trees, linear were tested according variable current age, age future, basal area, site index, as well their transformations. Spearman correlation dendrometric stand variables, GH (Glover Hool), LO (Lorimer) ST (Stage) being selected. These assessed independent variables models, whose contributions verified through “F ci ” test on incremental contribution. adjusted coefficient determination, standard error estimate, boxplots residuals. provided precise bias-free projections. statistically contributed test, increasing precision projected values majority tested. major tree modelling Glover Hool (GH) Lorimer (LO), respectively.

Evaluating of Different Height-Diameter Nonlinear Models for Hornbeam in Uneven-Aged Stands (Case Study: Golestan Rezaeian Forest)
Projection of stand development over time relies on accurate height-diameter functions. In this study, we evaluated the capability of 43 nonlinear models to estimate hornbeam heights in a portion Rezaeian experimental forest in Gorgan, Golestan province. We applied a systematic random sampling method to collect field data within a 150×200 meter network (3.33% intensity). It resulted in 200 circ...
متن کاملIntensive management modifies soil CO2 efflux in 6-year-old Pinus taeda L. stands
Intensive forestry may reduce net CO2 emission into atmosphere by storing carbon in living biomass, dead organic matter and soil, and durable wood products. Because quantification of belowground carbon dynamics is important for reliable estimation of the carbon sequestered by intensively managed plantations, we examined soil CO2 efflux (SCO2 ) in a 6-year-old loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) plan...
متن کاملIntrogression between Pinus taeda L. and Pinus echinata Mill
Loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) and shortleaf pine (Pinus echinata Mill.) have widely overlapping geographic ranges. Hybridization between the two species has interested tree breeders for a long time. Morphologically, the two pine species are different. The needles of loblolly pine are 6 to 9 inches long, usually with three yellow-green needles per fascicle; but shortleaf pine needles are 3 to 5...
متن کاملProduction, allocation, and stemwood growth efficiency of Pinus taeda L. stands in response to 6 years of intensive management
Loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) is a highly plastic species with respect to growth responses to forest management. Loblolly pine is the most planted species across the southern United States, a region with the most expansive and intensively managed forest plantations in the world. Management intensity, using tools such as site preparation and fertilization, is increasing greatly in scope over ti...
متن کاملGeneralized height-diameter models for Picea orientalis L.
The purpose of this paper is to compare major models for height estimation of Picea orientalis L trees based on the individual tree diameter and certain other stand variables. The data were collected from 440 trees of pure and even-aged P. orientalis stands that are located near Artvin in the northeastern part of Turkey. The data from 406 trees were used for model development and the remaining ...
